The boat leaves the port of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico at 4 p.m. on the day of departure as per our schedule. When arriving the same day your flight should land at the San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico airport (airline code SJD) no later than 1:45 - 2:00 p.m. This will give you plenty of time to check immigration & customs and proceed to the boat. If you need to come in a day early we can arrange a room at the Solmar Suites, price varies on time of year. When you make your reservation we will be sending you a pre-trip information sheet that walks you through procedures when you arrive in San Jose and other important information such as recommended clothing, water temps, dive gear, etc.

There are a number of airlines that fly directly into SJD. Alaska Airlines flies 3 to 4 times a day from Los Angeles as do Mexicana & Aero California. Both Alaska & America West fly from Phoenix. Alaska & Aero Mexico fly from San Diego. Continental flies daily from Houston and American Airlines flies daily from Dallas and Chicago. So as you can see it is quite easy to reach the SOLMAR V.

The crossing to the Socorro Islands takes 22 hours so it is important we leave on time. We plan our return so we arrive back in port the night before the return date on the schedule. This is also the case for our Sea of Cortez trips. On that night you will stay on the boat in port and can stretch your legs in town after being on the boat for a week. the next morning, which again is the return date on our schedule, you will disembark after breakfast which will be about 8:30 a.m. This means that you can book your return flight at any time on the return date shown on the schedule. If you do not leave until later in the afternoon we will take you to Solmar Suites, which can be used as a base to explore the town of Cabo San Lucas in the daytime.
